Asset Management is a standard Locator Expert module and is used to manage items (assets) that both contain and transport stock. Each asset has a potential or real value, thus requiring it to be tracked and quantified. |

Locator Expert is able to manage two distinct types of assets:
Pool Assets – these are non-serialised assets, e.g. GKN Chep pallets, which Locator Expert will record and report on how many have been shipped to each customer and how many remain within the warehouse pool.
Trackable Assets – these are serialised assets that remain within the ownership of your business and therefore are required to be tracked on and off site, examples of this being IBC’s and Roll Cages.
Assets can be defined as having an Expiry Date, whereby despatches of an asset cannot be made after the expiry date has been reached. Similarly, a Service Interval can be defined against an asset, whereby they are flagged as requiring a regular service and therefore unavailable for despatch when the next service date has been reached.
The tracking of serialised assets can be managed using either barcode scanning or RFID technology and a full current and historical audit trail is recorded and reported upon. |
