Despatch Management

The Despatch Management module is where all outbound orders are managed, from the initial placement of the sales order, through to the picking, packing and shipping of the stock.

There are multiple sales order categories within Locator Expert, thus allowing you complete flexibility in the control of customer orders, supplier returns, outbound inter-site transfers, etc.

Locator Expert determines the most efficient locations to pick stock from, based upon the business rules that are defined within the Info Store module, taking into account stock reservation, stock status, FIFO, or whether a specific Batch is required.

There are multiple criteria by which the ‘Rules’ will allow you to establish the actions to take place in the situation of a stock shortage. These cover such functions as “Allow Shortage”, “Do Not Pick”, “Allow Pick On Stock Availability”, ensuring you can maximise your order fulfilment.

Sales orders can be picked individually or allocated to consignments, and are tracked through your warehouse and onto the back of the vehicle using either Locator Expert’s Voice Recognition technology, Radio Frequency (RF) terminals or paper-based picking lists.

Locator Expert can also direct stock to a Quality Control (QC) area for pre-despatch QC testing, thus ensuring that the stock you despatch meets your customer’s expectations.

A standard feature within Locator Expert is the ability to produce and interface outbound Advance Shipping Notices (ASN’s) at the point of despatch.  The format of these ASN’s can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of any of your clients, such as EDI outputs, etc.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are a fundamental management tool within any business and Locator Expert greatly assists you with these by recording and reporting upon Customer Service information such as punctuality of despatch, order fulfilment and the quality of picked stock.
