Production

The Production module is where you manage both the requests for raw materials and packaging materials to production lines, together with the subsequent receipt of finished goods from production.

In the Raw Materials section of this module, the requirements for the production lines are input into the system and Locator Expert creates a Materials Request order within the Despatch Management module.

This order is then processed along with the other order types that are applicable to your operation. Locator Expert provides the flexibility through the business rules within the Info Store module to manage the various order types differently. Thus orders to deliver stock to the production lines can be established as a different priority to others and the tasks can be automatically assigned an appropriate level of criticality.

By the management of the fork lift operators and the abilities of the fork lift truck itself, the operation can ensure that only those operators with the correct training and working on the correct truck can deposit stock to the production lines. Thus the potential for damage in an area where it is difficult to manoeuvre is reduced.

Stock received from production lines is automatically recorded on a Production Receipts order within the Receiving module. Locator Expert records the receipts from the production lines over a period of time, providing you with a reconciliation between production planning and actual receipts.

Locator Expert determines the destination location for stock received from a production line, based upon the ‘Rules’ that were defined within the Info Store module.
